SPECIAL EVENTS & PROJECTS
Each year the Zoe Rose Memorial Foundation produces awareness focused events geared towards offering support to families who have had a baby in the NICU or who have experienced a loss. Providers and community partners are always invited to attend to enhance relationships and educate these professionals about the parent experience in a setting outside of the hospital.
Our signature annual event is a FUN family festival celebrating music, food, & preemies. This year's event will featured an eclectic mix of music from blues to rock 'n roll, acoustic soul and the sweet sounds of yesteryear!!!
Featuring Musical Guests:
Laine & Avis
Gregory & Dolie
A Pair of Aces
Southern Routes Duo
and more to be announced
We beat our goal of $5,000 allowing us to donate Hand To Hold resource libraries to four Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the Southeast and to assist the ongoing efforts of Zoe Rose Memorial Foundation in helping the families and caregivers of premature infants. If you missed us this year, be sure to join us in 2014!
Rainbow of Roses Remembrance
Each October, the Zoe Rose Memorial Foundation holds the Rainbow of Roses candlelighting remembrance in honor of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This is our way of paying tribute to the families who have suffered a loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal or infant death.
During the event, we honor the babies we never got to meet or who left us too soon by reading every name out loud. In addition, the event features stories and poems from bereaved parents as well as live music. This event is open to parents, siblings, and other loved ones. We provide personalized photo cards and a memorial video after the event. View our most recent video here.
There is no cost to attend, participate, or include your angel(s) in the event. Even if you are unable to attend, we would still like to honor your angel(s). Click on the button to the left to add your baby to this year's event.
This is an annual event around Parents of Preemies Day in May which will allow parents of preemies to take a break from all the therapies and doctor appointments to just play and enjoy their children and meet other families. It will be a community event involving parents and providers.
Check back soon for more information. If you are a provider or community leader and would like information on sponsoring the 2015 Preemie Playdate please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wrap Them In Roses
Wrap Them In Roses is an initiative to provide home made isolette covers for the Level 3 NICUs in Jackson MS and Boston Children's Hospital.
For those who do not know what an isolette cover is, it is a blanket that is placed over the top of the incubator/isolette that acts as a buffer for noise and light. The isolette re-creates a womb-like environment for the babies to grow outside of their mother. These blankets stay with the babies as they grow and will leave with them when the baby is discharged. Sadly, in some situations, if the baby passes away, the blanket will be one of the few mementos the parents will have to remind them of their child.
If you are interested in learning more about the project or receiving a kit that will contain all the materials you need to make one of these blankets please visit our Wrap Them in Roses Blog !
